Accessibility
Who can join this
This cruise requires moderate mobility. Embarkation and disembarkation involve a gangway and steps; some ports have uneven stone quays. Onboard public areas use stairs between decks; cabins may have one or two steps at the doorway. Shore excursions include walking on uneven ancient stone, steep ramps at temples, and sandy surfaces at riverbanks. Wheelchair access is limited: most vessels do not have full gangway lifts and narrow passageways restrict maneuvering. If you use a wheelchair, contact us before booking so we can advise on which vessel classes and excursion options are possible and arrange assistance at airports and ports where available.

How we travel here
We select vessels and local suppliers with transparent environmental and social practices. Most Nile cruisers use marine diesel engines; we ask cruise partners to operate regular engine maintenance and to monitor fuel use to reduce emissions. Shore transfers use modern air-conditioned coaches, typically Toyota or Mercedes models, provided by local companies with registered drivers. We contract locally for excursions and hospitality, so passenger spending supports Egyptian crew, guides, and small businesses in Luxor and Aswan. Onboard, single-use plastics are limited where the cruise partner has adopted refillable water stations; we encourage guests to bring reusable bottles. We require suppliers to manage waste responsibly and to follow local discharge regulations. If you have specific sustainability requirements, tell us before booking and we will share supplier details and recent practices.

Blue Shadow Nile Cruise
The Blue Shadow Nile Cruise sails between Luxor and Aswan with guided visits to Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Philae, Edfu and Kom Ombo. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator; our Egyptologists lead all guided excursions and explain the archaeology at each site. Onboard life alternates deck-side Nile views with full-board dining, short talks and an evening folkloric show. We do not run large-group bus tours, our sailings are restricted to small groups of no more than eight guests. Compared with mass-market coach tours, the cruise allows more time at Edfu and Kom Ombo to explore on foot. Optional excursions, including an Abu Simbel day trip from Aswan, can be arranged on request.

Concerto Nile Cruise
The Concerto Nile Cruise runs between Luxor and Aswan, offered as 3-night or 4-night full-board itineraries. Itineraries visit Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, the Colossi of Memnon, Kom Ombo, Edfu and Philae. Edfu is reached by horse-drawn chariot, and Kom Ombo receives an extended stop for photography and study of the reliefs. Full-board accommodation onboard, private air-conditioned transfers, entrance fees and an English-speaking Egyptologist are included, with guide groups limited to eight guests. We keep Egyptologist groups to a maximum of eight to reduce walking-group size at busy sites and allow more time with the guide. Optional Abu Simbel excursions can be added from Aswan. We are a licensed Egyptian tour operator and we arrange all transfers and local guides.
